5 Reasons Why CBD Oil Doesn't Work

Quite a few scientific studies conducted over the past decade have found some evidence that CBD is a potentially viable treatment for many different physical and mental ailments that are difficult to treat with traditional medical techniques. There is even a growing amount of evidence that suggests regular CBD (which is otherwise known as cannabidiol) can be beneficial to people who are already quite healthy and are not suffering from any chronic illnesses. However, there are quite a few people that claim that CBD oil does nothing for them at all when they use it. Are they simply immune from cannabidiol’s effects or is there something else that is affecting their reactions to these types of products?

Is your CBD oil not working for you or one of your customers? Before you let them declare the entire cannabinoid movement a complete hoax, it is important to help them understand that there are actually quite a few factors that could cause them to ask “Does CBD oil work at all?!” Let’s take a deeper dive into the most common variables that could be affecting your cannabidiol supplements

CBD DOES NOT GET YOU HIGH!

One of the first things to note about cannabidiol is that it DOES NOT cause any mind-altering, psychoactive effects. That means those new CBD users that are used to ingesting the “high”-inducing cannabis plant are often left wanting more of a kick after trying CBD products. But this doesn’t mean that these supplements are not actually working! This lack of satisfaction is often because the CBD supplements that are legal throughout the country are derived from the hemp plant.

While hemp is a closely related cousin of marijuana, it contains far less of a cannabinoid known as THC. THC is the particle found in cannabis plants that is responsible for its euphoric “high”. Hemp-based CBD plants (and the products derived from them) contain a mere 0.3 percent of THC at most and that is why they don’t cause a psychoactive effect.

While the effects of the cannabinoid THC are quite obvious, cannabidiol’s effects are far more subtle. Rather than imbuing people with feelings of psychoactive euphoria, the physical and mental sensations that CBD users tend to feel include:

  • Increased relaxation
  • Easier time falling asleep
  • Decreased anxiety
  • Decreased pain and inflammation
  • Decreased seizure episodes

HAVE YOU BUILT UP A TOLERANCE TO CBD?

Just like with any other ingestible compound, it is quite possible to develop a tolerance to CBD. This is almost certainly the case if some of your customers report that they enjoyed the sensations of CBD when initially trying these products but have noticed that the effects have started to taper off with regular use. However, they really have nothing to fear in the long run! All they have to do is take a few days completely off any type of CBD supplementation to allow their bodies to reset. Then they can restart their use with low doses to delay the development of their cannabidiol tolerance again!

HAS ENOUGH CBD BUILT UP WITHIN YOUR BODY?

Believe it or not, it is possible to not feel the effects of cannabidiol because its levels have not built up high enough within the body (in a manner that is opposite to the tolerance mechanism). Each one of your customers has a unique internal biological composition and chemistry which means that their bodies need different amounts of CBD for it to work effectively. But how are they supposed to figure out the appropriate dose for themselves?

The best way for your customer to figure out the perfect dosage of CBD is to start with a low, minimal dose initially and then gradually increase their dosage size over time until the desired effects are felt. Once they have determined their particular cannabidiol “sweet spot”, it is important to take note of it and monitor any changes with their tolerance closely. There is no need to hesitate incorporating microdosing techniques if that is what is needed to find the proper dose. Keeping a detailed notebook with data of the minimal effective dose and how that changes over time has also helped quite a few people build a reliable CBD regimen.

If they encounter some trouble finding their CBD “sweet spot”, there are a couple more practices that may help them. Some people have more success achieving their desired cannabidiol effects by taking daily dosages (sometimes even multiple times a day) to ensure that their body has a sustained level of CBD. The resulting increased minimal baseline of cannabidiol within the body has helped many people sensitize their endocannabinoid system (which is the part of the body that CBD interacts with) enough to start feeling CBD’s effects.

HOW GOOD IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR CBD PRODUCTS?

Unfortunately, not all CBD supplements are created equally. Once consumer interest for cannabidiol started growing rapidly, a variety of different players jumped into the industry. Since the FDA hasn’t yet started approving CBD-infused products, many people looking to make a quick buck started making supplements that were made with cheap, low-quality cannabidiol. As you can imagine, low-quality CBD products simply do not provide anything close to the therapeutic potential that high-quality supplements.

If you want to ensure you are getting high-quality CBD items (such as the products that we sell at LoveToCBD.com), make sure that you are looking for the following things:

  • Third-party testing that provides concrete evidence of the amount of CBD found in the product and the cannabinoid profile
  • Positive consumer reviews from websites such as Leafly, CannaInsider, and CBD Oil Users

If you cannot find this type of information on any of the CBD products you are thinking of buying now, try to stick with well-known brands that have an established track record.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE CBD TO WORK?

The answer to this question is depends on each individual’s internal chemistry. There are quite a few people who feel the effects of CBD almost immediately or after a few minutes/hours. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Believe it or not, it is actually quite common for some people to not feel any effects of cannabidiol for several weeks or even months of regular CBD supplementation!

Since everyone’s body reacts so differently to cannabinoids, achieving any type of success with CBD usually requires a certain level of extended commitment to deduce how effective this compound is to your body over the long-term. Unfortunately, using cannabidiol isn’t as straightforward as using aspirin! Luckily, if your customers find that they are not feeling the effects that they want after using CBD for a few months, all hope isn’t lost. Sometimes, these types of issues are completely solved by trying a different brand of CBD oil.
